City Arts Magazine: Sole Food and Sole of Seattle~What a great combination!

The walls of Sole Food are crowded with shoes for women,
men and children. There are more boots lining the walls than ever before, yet owner Karla Easton is having trouble keeping her most popular trends in stock.
“It’s all about boots right now,” says Easton.
Another popular trend this season is giving. Sole Food and several other local retailers have partnered as the Seattle offshoot of Soles4Souls, a national charity organization that collects gently worn footwear and/or donations to help people in need, whether they are victims of a natural disaster
or subject to living in extreme poverty.

OUR SUCCESS DEPENDS ON HOW MANY PEOPLE WE CAN REACH

Our success depends on. . . .

  1. How many people give shoes

  2. People knowing where and when to give shoes

The more collected, then the more distributed. . .

Help us spread the word by advertising, blogging, featuring, and shouting us out on the street corner.

Bottom line, our success depends on YOU!!

Announcing the 2009 Sole of Seattle

2009 SOLE OF SEATTLE
December 2009

The Ability to Give Shoes to Others is a Privilege. . .
This December 2009, we are throwing our second annual city-wide shoe drive to benefit the Sole4Souls Organization. Local area boutiques participating are encouraging their customers, friends and neighbors to come down to the shop, drop off a gently-worn pair of shoes to provide aid to people in the world who do not own or have access to shoes.

How it works: Your favorite shoe boutique will have a Sole4Souls Bin in their shop and will collect donations through the month of December. At the end of December, the shoes will be sent to the Soul4Souls Distribution Center and then redistributed throughout the country and the world to areas with the greatest need.

It is pretty simple. . . .
1. Recycle your old shoes
2. Get a new pair of shoes*
3. Help others
4. Spread the word!

*purchasing new shoes are not a requirement to donate
